Real Estate Law & Litigation

An easement is basically the right to use part of someone else’s property for a specific purpose, such as in the case of access roads or for the purpose of installing utilities such as water and power lines. Because of the easements, conflicts may arise from time to time between the sharing parties.

On any piece of real estate, being able to clearly define its edges and boundaries is important, especially if it is property on which structure will be built or existing structure extended. As well as, disputes that may arise with neighbors when it comes to these boundaries. A neighbor may build their fence on part of your property, or perhaps a nearby facility has begun encroaching on valuable commercial space. Further, disputes arise when property boundaries become vague or are confused for easements.
